In today’s busy, hectic lives, it seems increasingly difficult to stop and be truly present in your body. You’re running from one task to the next, your head is full of worries, to-do lists, and endless plans. Worrying, rushing, and feeling like you’re always ‘all over the place’—this isn’t how you want to live, right? But what if you could experience the difference between being constantly in your head and truly being present in your body? What if you could find the answers you’re looking for not only in your thoughts, but also in your body?
It's time to calm your mind and connect with the wisdom that already lies within your body. Here are three tips that can help you strengthen this connection and use your body as a guide again:

No. 1: Body Language
You’ve probably heard that your body speaks. But what does that really mean? It’s more than just a feeling—the body automatically tells you what it needs, it already knows. Our words and thoughts often reveal what our body already knows. Think of statements like, “I feel stuck” or “I’m not making any progress.”
In body-oriented coaching we explore these blockages and beliefs, and work together with posture and movement. Through body-oriented exercises new space and possibilities always arise. It can be exciting, but above all very inspiring and powerful!
Tip 1: listen to the language of your body
What are you struggling with now? What sentence comes to mind? How could you express that in a posture or movement? Just do it! Your body easily shows you where you stand and what your deepest desires are. Do you want more depth? Then book a Body Mind Language session.
Mental well-being: modern man is mainly occupied with his head, the body is there to look good. But we also have to listen to our body, so that we feel if we are stressed and do something about it. (Wouter van Noort in NRC)

No. 2: dance !
Dancing is a powerful way to express your emotions and bring your body to life. It strengthens your connection with yourself and lets your thoughts fade into the background. When you experience the power of movement, make it a habit. Put on your favorite music and let it help you let go. Feel your feet firmly in the earth; this helps you to ground and balance both with yourself and your surroundings.
Tip 2: turn on your favorite music and dance!
Feel the music and let your body react freely. For example, move from a strong contact with the floor. This has a relaxing and grounding effect. Dancing is the simplest and perhaps the most fun way to relax your body and mind. Psst! at the Slow & Flow Home Retreat you will receive a unique Restored playlist!
Because often I thanked God in heaven for the fantastic days and then I could not control my body, it danced and the dance was my prayer. Then I felt a genuineness vibrate through my bones, the joy of life. (Toon Hermans)

No. 3: Touch Touch is a basic need for life, just like oxygen and food. When you are touched, the stress hormone cortisol decreases and the 'cuddle hormone' oxytocin increases. This makes you feel safe, secure and relaxed, while stress and anxiety decrease. Experiencing touch helps you to feel connected again, not only to others, but also to yourself.
A valuable way to work with touch is through body massages. The touches work deeply on the autonomic nervous system, help to release tension, and give you the opportunity to experience new peace and come home to your body.
Tip 3: create conscious moments of attentive touch
Treat yourself to a wonderful body oil that you use attentively after a warm shower. Do you want to spend extra time and attention on touch and body awareness? Then book the Mindful Touch for deep relaxation and listening to your body.
Touch is a language with which your body finds peace and strength. (Marijke Hukema)
